Housekeeping Cleaner  – Part Time OR Full Time Available

General Job Description:

Sharing and Caring Hands includes Mary’s Place which is a homeless shelter for 100 homeless families. Mary’s Place is seeking a hardworking and self-motivated individual for our Housekeeping Cleaner position. We are looking for someone that can either do part-time or full-time and start as soon as possible. A full-time position would include benefits. Work hours: Monday – Thursday or Monday – Friday during the day (not evenings or weekends). Ideal start time would be between 7:30am-9:00am. Exact day hours can be based on what works well for both the applicant and organization.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Deep clean and sanitize vacant apartment units (studio and 2-bedroom size) preparing them for new occupancy – this can include clutter/litter/trash removal
• Coordinate cleaning with maintenance, office staff, and/or the organization’s director to ensure timely completion of unit turnover – have daily communication with and promptly report to office staff and/or the organization’s director
• Maintain/organize/stock storage closets
• Launder linens and towels as needed
• May also be asked to deep clean and sanitize other areas of building (entryways, hallways, stairwells, laundry facility, and offices)
• The ability to manage time, meet deadlines, while also paying attention to detail, and demonstrating quality/thorough work are key components of this role

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and walk for extended periods while performing cleaning duties
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED
• Read, write, and speak English fluently
• Possess a working cell phone for the communication of daily cleaning assignments (preferably by text message)
• Pass criminal background check
